4th IS lesson
Hi everyone,
This blog post would be all about my fourth IS lesson. Today, we were taught on CSS. CSS stand for Cascading Style Sheet. CSS was taught after the third IS lesson, on html as they came hand in hand. CSS can help one to beautify the web page, for example add borders, edit font, add colour, etc...
We were also told to do a CSS challenge at the end of the lesson. CSS was a little more complicated than html to me as there were certain language that I did not understand. But, with the help of my partner, we managed to complete the challenge together. The part that was most confusing to me was when we had to find the background texture with was not found in the colour encoding page. But after asking around my friends, we found out how to find the background texture. I was also interesting to add the dotted border and centralize the page as well as to italicize the words.
After much CSS editing, the page was 'beautified' and I had a lot of fun. I hope to do CSS again. Hope you look forward to my next blog post.

3rd IS Lesson
Hi everyone,
This is my next post on my Info com Studies 3rd lesson. Today, we learnt about html and I finally understood what it was. Html stands for Hypertext Markup Language I have also learnt about some of the simple html language for example: (html) (/html) (h1) (/h1) (body) (/body>).() is replaced with <> as blogger.com does not accept the html tags
I found it very interesting learning about how a web page is actually created using html. Adding different headings, links, pictures and even paragraphs. When it was time for us to do it ourselves (edit a html-html challenge) I took quite some time to figure out and recall the different language and soon after, I managed to complete the challenge.
One of the hardest task for me was to insert a relative picture. It was quite difficult was we had to type it the border, length and width and had to remember the format of the whole thing. But, all in all I had fun and learnt a lot about html.
I suppose if I have another chance to do html, I would definitely look forward to it. Hope you look forward to my next blog post.

2nd IS lesson
Hi all,
This blog post would be about my second IS lesson. We were told to do a forum discussion on a website. The topic I had to do was on the social impact of new media Well, I had a great time finding the information online as well as watching the various videos on the website. I found it very interesting that the Social impact of new media was so great. There was one video on H.C.I which I found it really eye opening. The technology was so much more advanced that our modern technology, whereby the devices listen to voice and then react by help us do various things like checking mail and calling a friend. This is a technology I would like to have very much, and that might happen as technology advanced in the future.
I also posted a comment on another discussion forum under intellectual property - Is copy right? I posted a reply saying that I agreed on what my classmate said that many people just copy and paste a piece of information on the Internet without seeking permission. This is wrong as the information is a piece of the author's intellectual property. However I also noticed that the piece of information my friend typed out was similar to the one on Wikipedia. I posted a note indirectly telling him that many people on the net use website like Wikipedia the get the information from.
Thank you for reading the blog post.

First Lesson of IS
Info com studies is held every Tuesday. Last week, I had my second term, first lesson on info com and we were told to do blog postings. In this blog post, I would write what I had learnt last week.
Firstly we were given some time to do some brief introduction and we were introduced to our IS web new media website. Then, the real lesson started. From the 57 PowerPoint slides that were explained to us, I had picked up many things about Internet 2.0 including the history of the Internet, know what URL stands for, netiquette on the Internet and many more. I found it really helpful as usually when I play games or whatsoever on the Internet, the phrase URL is commonly used but many of us do not know the real meaning behind it and they do not check it out themselves. But today after the lesson, I finally knew what it was.
The part of the lesson that I found most interesting was learning how to create a blog and how to change the blog skin of my blog. After watching several videos and knowing how to change the blog skin, I went home to try it out myself. Although I took a long time, I still managed to find the right blog skin and I was really satisfied that I had learnt something during my IS lesson.
In this lesson, we only learnt about blogging and Internet 2.0 and who knows what we would be learning the next lesson. And I am really looking forward to the next lesson.
Hope to post another blog post soon!

Introduction
Hi everyone,
This is my very first blog post on my IS blog. In case you were wondering I.S is the short form for info com studies. We were told to do create a blog and post blog postings that are to be graded. So please give related comments and hope you will enjoy reading my blog postings.
First of all, I would like to introduce myself. I am Chua Zhong Zhi from Class 1A2. Info comm is not really a new subject to me as I also had computer lab lessons in my primary school. But, the huge difference is about the things that we are learning. Previously in term 1 this year, we did C ++ Programming which I found interesting but very challenging. This term, we are learning about the Internet 2.0.
Basically I do know the basics of how to use the computer and various Internet programmes and websites as I use the computer almost everyday to check my student message board, etc... But there are still many things that I still do not know about the Internet yet, for example blogging. At first, I did not know how to change the blog skin of my blog, but thanks to my IS teacher, I manged to change the blog skin to the current one. I am not in any IT CCA and I hope to learn more about the Internet and other uses through this term and more about this topic.
Hope that you would look forward to my next blog posting!
